Advanced TV Herstory connects the treasures & moments of the past and places it into context of American life, for women, today.

This segment is about superheroes, short-lived TV shows with a strong female lead and the 2005-2006 groundbreaker, Commander in Chief. No spoiling, other than a hard look at subtle aspects of the series through a 2016 lens.

This show is a mind grinder. In some ways it feels like the last grasp of Jimmy Stewart in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” – the ideals and energy that compel and propel a woman or man to serve in elected office. Geena Davis and the show’s writers DO NOT DISAPPOINT.
